BAGS OF LOVE - COMPETITOR

An example of a competitor who has a website which is in the same field as what my app RUG is, is Bags of Love. Where there are already similar products to my idea, there is nothing quite like it on the market yet. On this site you can upload or pick the design, change the text, colour and size of the rug and they will make it for you. The level of personalisation that the user can edit is similar both on this site and on my application. The thing that differentiates my app to the Bags of Love site, is the fact that Augmented Reality is being implemented to revolutionise the way users shop.

However, when actually using the site and trying to upload a design, add text or change colours, I found something this site lacks. The actual design of this website looks relativley basic, and as soon as you start to use it it lags, glitches and uses low resolution on a 2D display to show you your design. The glitches are something that makes you feel the site is untrustworthy, this is something I wish to eliminate when creating my app.

AXURE RP EMBED MEDIA TUTORIAL

In this stage of the prototype creation I have all my panels completed in Figma, as well as my augmented reality scene recorded from WiARframe ready for importing. However I was unsure on how to import my video into Axure so that it plays when the page is visited. I read Axure's support blog and learnt that it is easily embedded. They posted a link within the blog post and it took me to their youtube channel. I followed their online tutorial which enabled me to import my video into Axure RP. I now have a semi-working prototype and the next step is to insert my pre-made designs and put it all together for a finished product.

WORKING PROTOTYPE

To create my working prototype I used a range of platforms to enable myself to get a really clear visualisation of what I want my app to look like and also how I would want it to work . Below is a video of my working prototype  as well as a link to the Axure share page in which it can be tried from.  https://lr0bgm.axshare.com

USING WIARFRAME

When creating my prototype I looked for a software in which I could create my augmented  reality sequence ready to put into Axure RP. I came across a software which was  just starting up called wiARframe, I tried get the software and received an email informing me I was 125th in the queue. However I emailed the founder of the company, explaining who I am and why I wanted access to his software and I gained early access. The wiARframe software is very clean, simple and  quick to pick up. This along with a step by step introduction, enabled me to get a really clear understanding in a short amount of time. I created my own textures in photoshop and imported them to then apply to the found assets on the Google Poly Collection.   In order to get this prototype onto a mobile device I downloaded the wiARframe app and logged into my account which shares the project from both my laptop and my mobile. Any changes I made on my laptop will appear o...
